ARTIC Expands Operational Hotel Portfolio In Qatar

Doha, Qatar – 12 January 2020, Al Rayyan Tourism Investment (“ARTIC”) one of the leading international hotel investment companies, has expanded its portfolio of operational properties in Doha with the completion and opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Doha – Al Sadd hotel.

DoubleTree by Hilton Doha - Al Sadd, officially opened at the end of December, is located in Doha’s main commercial and retail district in close proximity to a range of Doha’s key destinations including Souq Waef and Al Bidaa Park. The hotel comprises 139 guest rooms and hosts three hospitality outlets providing a range of formal and casual dining environments and cuisines.

H.E. Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of ARTIC, said: “The opening of the DoubleTree Hilton - Al Sadd further extends the number of operational assets in our portfolio as well as our strong relationship with Hilton. This reflects ARTIC’s strategy to partner with the best hotel operators in the world to provide the highest standards of hospitality and service.  ARTIC owns over 27 hotels around the world, out of which nine are in Qatar. Five of our under-development projects became operational in the past year, as we continue our efforts towards opening more properties according to the assigned schedule, supporting our investment plans to explore new opportunities and contribute to Qatar’s growing tourism and hospitality sector.”

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Faisal Al Thani, Vice Chairman of ARTIC, commented: “The opening of DoubleTree represents our second investment in Al Sadd district, in line with our aim to expand our operations across the different parts of the City and to strengthen our local presence in the country.  Our local expansion and partnership with Hilton continue to reflect that strategy as we build a strong, diversified portfolio of hotels by brand, customer segment and location.”

Mr. Tarek M. El Sayed, CEO & Managing Director of ARTIC, commented: “The opening of The DoubleTree by Hilton Al Sadd demonstrates the success of our strategy to build long term investment value through alliances with established hotel operators and business partners.  The DoubleTree by Hilton hotel was developed by ARTIC in line with our commitment to invest and maintain the highest standards of quality and design in all our assets, which made ARTIC the preferred partner among world top leading operators like Hilton, enriching our well-established relationship that is built on trust and mutual respect. Looking ahead, we plan to bring more of our development property portfolio on-stream in 2020, including four new hotel openings soon in Qatar.”
