Marriott International And ARTIC Sign Agreement For Germany’s First Jw Marriott Hotel

JW Marriott Berlin slated to debut in early 2022

Doha, Qatar, --December 2020: Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Company “ARTIC”, a leading international hotel investment company and Marriott International today announced the signing of a milestone agreement with, to bring a 505-guestroom hotel located in central Berlin into the Marriott International fold. Located on Stauffenbergstraße and renowned for being one of Berlin’s largest conference hotels, the ARTIC-owned property will join as Hotel Berlin Central District. Set to undergo an extensive, phased four-year renovation, the hotel will debut as the JW Marriott Berlin in 2022.

The iconic JW Marriott brand continues to grow across Europe, the Middle East and Africa with eight hotels in the pipeline, underscoring the demand for a sophisticated luxury offering in the region.”

A city known for its stimulating culture, cutting-edge architecture, fabulous food and tangible history; guests will have the best of Berlin on their doorstep. Set opposite Tiergarten, one of the largest urban gardens in Germany boasting almost 520 acres of forested ground, tree-lined paths and sparkling lakes, guests can immerse themselves in this nurturing environment and take time to connect with nature. Renowned landmarks are a stone’s throw from the hotel, including the famous Brandenburg Gate and historic Potsdamer Platz, now a vibrant hub of contemporary Berlin and offering a wealth of high-end shopping.  

With the city’s cultural credentials rivalled only by its commercial importance, the hotel is well-located for Berlin’s business hub, with international enterprises and embassies a short walk away. Berlin’s central station is a 10-minute drive away, whilst Berlin Brandenburg Airport is a 35-minute drive.

The comprehensive renovation will fully transform the property’s exterior, entrance, public spaces, facilities, guestrooms and suites. The modern, new design will draw inspiration from nature, bringing a nourishing sense of wellbeing through warm touches, serene spaces, interior design and the hotel’s food and beverage.

The extensive function spaces, currently spanning 5,500 square metres, including a main ballroom with mezzanine seating and secondary ballroom, will undergo a complete makeover, providing the city with revamped JW Marriott event spaces.
